With most rugby cancelled across the whole club this weekend because of Storm Darragh, only a handful of Away games were able to take place. Here's how they got on...

Ravens Under 12s | Freya

For today’s PUP that was relocated from Oxford to the middle of Alaska, our roughty toughty U12 Ravens braved the Alaskan chill! Freya our Raven of the week carried like a demon, darting in between 12 year olds!

Ravens Under 14s | Erin

U14 Ravens played against Hornets RFC in cold and blustery conditions. It was very much a match of two contrasting halves. In the first half, the Ravens were dominant, with very powerful forward runners punching holes in the Hornet defence. However, at first, they did not utilise the basic game plan. After they made very hard work of scoring the 1st Ravens try, it took some stern words from the coaches to start to identify space and move the ball through the back line. Once their support play began to click, the scores began to mount up, although they did leave some simple points on the pitch through white line fever. The Ravens finished the 1st half 31 - 5 in front.

The second half was a different story. Hornets began punching holes, and the Ravens started missing tackles and failed to support ball carriers. The Ravens heads began to drop as Hornets try tally increased, but it took some individual brilliance to stem the Hornet onslaught. Lexi in particular was in fine form both in attack and defence, but she was narrowly beaten to player of the day by Captain and tackling machine Erin.

Under 16s | Dan

Dan brought great physicality to a game that was keenly contested at the set peice by both sets of forwards. However, Dan’s determination in making the ball his own at the break down was key to generating quick ball for our backs to capitalise on. Dominant in the tackle he played a key role in what turned out to be a well deserved win against very competitive opposition.

Under 16s | Owen

After a long journey to Lydney, Owen had an outstanding game he was physical but also showed very good ball skills at the same time. Well done to whole team for a tough game in tough conditions.
