Royal Wootton Bassett RFC is a community rugby club based at Ballards Ash Sports Ground. Founded in 1971, the club has grown from its beginnings as Wootton Bassett RFC into one of the area’s leading grassroots sporting organisations.
Read a Brief History of our Club
Today, the club provides opportunities to play, coach, support and enjoy rugby for people of all ages and abilities.
Our senior section provides competitive and social rugby for both men and women, with teams playing at a range of levels. Alongside our senior teams, the club has a thriving Colts section for Under 17 and Under 18 players, the Bassett Ravens girls’ section, and Minis and Juniors rugby for boys and girls from age 5 through to 16.
We also offer Walking Rugby, providing a fun and active way for people aged 45 and over, or those living with a health condition, to stay involved in the game.
Whatever your age, experience or ability, there is a place for you at RWBRFC.
Our Values
Our club is built around four simple values which apply across every section of RWBRFC:
Commitment
To the club, to each other and to the sport of rugby, both on and off the pitch.
Community
To make our club welcoming, inclusive and a positive part of the wider community.
Consistency
To maintain high standards in everything we do, from coaching and playing to running and supporting the club.
Connected
From our youngest players to our senior teams, coaches, volunteers, supporters and families, everyone should feel part of the club.
Ballards Ash
Our home at Ballards Ash Sports Ground is at the heart of the club and provides a base for rugby, social activities, community events and a wide range of other uses.
We continue to invest in our facilities and the future of the club, ensuring Ballards Ash remains a welcoming place to play rugby, watch rugby and spend time with friends, family and the wider community.

Respect and Inclusion
RWBRFC is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone involved with the club.
We uphold the core values of rugby union: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Everyone involved with the club is expected to treat others with respect and behave in a way that reflects these values, both at the club and away from it, including when using social media and other online platforms.
Abusive, discriminatory or threatening behaviour has no place at RWBRFC. This includes abuse or discrimination based on characteristics including race, colour, ethnic origin, religion, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
Where concerns are raised about behaviour that falls below the standards expected by the club, we will take them seriously and consider appropriate action in line with our club policies and the wider regulations of the sport.
Royal Wootton Bassett RFC is a club for everyone.
