Half Term might have given some of our players a week off, but there was no rest for the rugby-mad!
While a few sections across the club swapped boots for lie-ins, some of our Minis and Juniors teams were still out at Ballards Ash, putting in the hard yards and keeping the scoreboard ticking.
Under 6s | Harrison
This weeks player of the week is Harrison. Harrison showed great teamwork in the races, his speed and agility was a big contribution to his teams numerous wins. He was also one of the winners at dodge ball. Well done Harrison.
Under 7s | Jack
Even with fewer players due to half term, the Under 7s had a brilliant session hosting Stow this week. The kids played plenty of rugby and showed great energy and teamwork throughout.
Jack earned Coach’s Player of the Week for his fantastic effort and standout performance in Bulldog—well done, Jack!
Under 8s | Tommy
On a fresh morning at Ballards Ash we had a brisk training session concentrating on support play and passing in attack, and an aggressive defensive line in defence. We also played matches and finished with bulldog.
A number of kids excelled and the player of the week was Tommy. He tried really hard all session, working hard to get tags and scoring a load of tries.
Under 9s | Tieo & Oli
The Player of the Week is Tieo. Tieo was fully committed to today's games, giving some excellent passes and running into space with ball in hand.
Tackler of the Week is Oli. Oli acted as scrum-half today. Aside from his work in distributing the ball and creating opportunities for teammates, Oli made several tackles that pushed back the Stow opposition.
Well done to both players.
Under 10s | Max
Max did really well today, he got stuck into his tackling and breakdown work. He made good progress carrying the ball forwards, breaking through the opposition line.
Under 11s | Corban & Jack
Corban was the player of the week showing great commitment chasing down and making tackles throughout the session. He also demonstrated great footwork in tight situations today breaking the gain-line.
Jack is known for his speed and agility, and showed he can also put in the hard graft in contact and was our Rucker of the week. Amazing work lads.
Under 12s | Archie
Our player of the week goes to Archie for really stepping up his game in training and being a great teammate.
Under 14s | Charlie & Oliver
A good game all round for the U14 boys at Stow-on-the-Wold. Plenty of good performances across the team who collectively scored 7 tries.
The Stow players voted for Charlie as their player of the match for his impact on the game from fly-half.
The Bassett Coaches’ player of the match was Oliver, who was strong in the scrum, great running and passing of the ball in open play.
