The ☔ weather may have been awful, and we certainly got wet and muddy - but our Youth players showed what they were made of out on the pitch at the weekend!

Here are some highlights from Week Three:

Under 6s | Tommy

Tommy had a great session today. He worked hard in the early part of the session and did very well in the British bulldog, making it all the way to the end.

Under 7s | Tommy

Tommy was player of the week this week. He did well in the games, listened well and he answered all the coaches questions about the rules showing a great understanding of rugby

Under 8s | Noah

Noah was player of the week. Great passing and play today. He did good listening.

Under 10s | Niamh

The Under 10’s player of the week was Niamh for her impressive display in training. Niamh who is always smiling was biting down on her gum shield today putting in strong carries and dominate tackles demonstrating her new contact skills. Excellent work Niamh!

Under 9s | Ruari & Richard

Both boys did amazing at representing RWB at the Marlborough college festival, showing true club spirit and really getting into the matches! Well done boys!

Under 11s | Sam

Tackle of the week goes to Sam, who has only been with us for 3 weeks and is already showing great determination and confidence, keep it up Sam!

Under 12s | Charlie

Charlie had a great session today, took on board everything the coaches said and put it into practice in his first game for the U12’s with 3 great tackles and nearly adding a try too, if it wasn’t for a last ditch tackle in the corner.

Under 14s | Tevita & Jayden

Two players of the week this week as we simply couldn’t choose between them! Tevita and Jayden. Both with some dynamic hard carries which put us on the front foot and also solid defensively.

Under 13s | Avik & Sean

Joint-players of the week and holders of Rufus the mascot for U13's are Avik and Sean for excellent performances against the Tetbury / Minety Barbarians. Both players making their full debut with the U13s today - a brilliant start.

Under 15s | Luke

The U15's hosted Frome at Home this week. A really tough close game played with great rugby values. This week's player of the week is Luke. He demonstrated great pace and toughness on Friday night.

Under 16s | Cian

The U16’s victory over Bath was very much down to a complete team performance. That said, one individual played a crucial role in the all important set piece. Cian, helped the team dominate in the line-out with pin point throws that gave the opposition little chance of turn overs and in the scrum he put in a shift in the front-row that literally kept Bath on the back foot all afternoon.

Under 16s | Ollie

Ollie led from the front with a strong defensive display in tough conditions against a physical Old Cryt’s side. He was also at the heart of a number of good attacking plays consistently getting his team over the gain line

Colts | Oscar

With weather best suited for Forwards play, our versatile forward Oscar was introduced to the game 15mins In with two instructions - Enjoy yourself in the awful weather and influence the breakdown dynamic.
Within seconds Oscar introduced himself to the opposition with an excellent tackle and counter ruck followed shortly after by a galloping run. Oscar’s enjoyment was evident to see as he continued his involvement for the remainder of the match.

U12 Girls | Freya

U12 Raven of the match today was Freya, she was tenacious. Making runs from our own try line. Never scared to go in and pick the ball up and help the team move forward.

U14 Girls | Dotty & Bella

Player of the match went to Dotty and Bella for exceptional communication on the field and leading by example.

U16 Girls | Bella

Player of the match is Bella as with every week, Bellas' understanding of her position shows, this week we had a hard game. She used her knowledge and understanding of the game to hit hard tackles, preventing the opposition from getting through the line. The weather was not our friend, but every tackle she made was confident and bolstered our defence. Well done, Bella!

U18 Girls | Amy

Amy was named Player of the Match for her tireless efforts throughout the game. The Ravens look forward to the return fixture against the Walcats in a few weeks and thank them for hosting this match.
