Young talent breaks through

We believe the continued success of Royal Wootton Bassett RFC lies in the retention and advancement of young players up through our Minis & Juniors age groups. Promotion of Colts players into the senior squad is also encouraged, with current 1st XV players Gavin Ougan and Elye Darragh setting the standard for young Bassett players rising into the senior squad.

The latest example being last weekend's win against Wimborne (Bassett 47 - 10 Wimborne), which saw the First XV debut of two Colts players - Ioan Jenkins and Rhys Higginson - who have both progressed from Bassett Under 7s through to our senior squad.

Ioan, a current U17, started his first match in the back row while Rhys, a current U18, came off the bench to make a great debut. There is a real conveyor belt of talent beginning to break through to the 1st XV. Well done lads!
