A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Royal Wootton Bassett RFC yesterday for another fantastic Sausage & Cider Festival.
The sunshine brought out a massive crowd, creating a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day for the rugby, live music, food and cider. We’d especially like to thank everyone for their patience in the cider marquee queues when the demand for refreshments hit full festival levels!
On the pitch, the rugby certainly delivered:
🏆 Royal Wootton Bassett RFC President’s XV retained the McCue Cup with a 40–7 victory over REME
🔥 Dorset & Wilts rounded off the afternoon with a 70–7 County Championship win over Berkshire
👟 Our RWBRFC Walking Rugby Tournament was hugely enjoyed by players and spectators alike, creating a brilliant atmosphere to kick off the festival rugby.
Most importantly, thank you to the incredible volunteers, organisers, players, coaches, bar staff and supporters who helped make the event happen. Festivals like this are only possible thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers, who give up countless hours of their own time - completely unpaid - to organise, set up and run the event for the whole community to enjoy.
We hope everyone had a brilliant day—and we’ll see you all again next year!
