Now that the marquee has been dismantled, I think its right to give a huge vote of thanks to all those volunteers and helpers who made this year’s Summer Ball such a resounding success.

There was some concern early on that ticket sales were a little slow off the mark, but a late surge took the final numbers to in excess of 320. The weather could not have been better and those who enjoyed the drinks reception at the front of the club were able to bask in the evening sunlight as the ice-cold Prosecco flowed.

Thankfully the marquee was cooler than anticipated, and our guests were treated to a trip to Venice followed by an excellent three-course dinner with a great cheese course at midnight.

Once again 'Mojo' pulled out all the musical stops, packing the dance floor from the moment they hit their first song. Most people managed to keep up with the pace and there were undoubtedly many calories lost along the way!

All in all a great evening and another feather in the cap for being able to put on such large and well produced event.

Thanks everyone!

Chris Elias, Chairman, RWBRFC
