In these challenging times I’m sure we are all acutely aware of the pressure that people are finding themselves under with their lives being restricted in so many ways.
Whether it is the challenges of working from home, or not being able to work at all, to the small things in life we all took for granted like playing rugby or socialising with friends, the pandemic is affecting all our lives in many different ways.
When the regularity of our lives is disturbed and there is no sign of an immediate return to normality, mental health concerns can quickly develop and potentially cause lasting damage.
With this in mind we have been looking at ways in which the club can support our members to overcome these challenges.
Over recent weeks we have been looking at various options with John Lewis, a mental performance coach who had worked with Team GB, Swindon Wildcats and a number of large corporates.
With John’s help and experience we have developed a series of on-line Wellbeing and Performance presentations which John will be delivering to various age groups, coaches, team managers and parents over the coming weeks.
Alan Low will shortly be in contact with appropriate age groups to let them know when their sessions will be running and I would encourage you to play a part in this programme.
As I’m sure many of you know, our main sponsors Imagine Cruising also take the wellbeing of their own staff very seriously, and I am delighted to say that the programme we are running is being sponsored by Imagine. We owe them a huge debt of thanks for their continued engagement and support of the club this season.
