Emergency medical services play a critical role in supporting physical sports like rugby, which are often prone to injuries. Rugby is a demanding sport and having immediate medical attention through services like the Wiltshire Air Ambulance can make a vital difference in ensuring players' safety and well-being. That's why we readily agreed to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance with a new scheme designed to provide a sustainable financial income to their vital service.
Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club has partnered with Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Recycling Solutions to install a charity clothing bank in our car park. The newly installed Clothing Bank can be found at the end of the black Storage Unit in the club's car park at Ballards Ash.
Donate your clothing and textiles
Through this initiative, we encourage the donation of clean clothing, paired shoes, linen, coats, towels, and sheets. By donating these items in clean bags to the big green bank, individuals can play a pivotal role in reducing waste at landfill sites, while directly contributing to Wiltshire Air Ambulance which will receive a guaranteed percentage from the sale of reusable items.
The recycling process doesn't end with resale. 'End of life' garments that cannot be reused are repurposed into various items such as industrial wipers, mattress filling, insulation, and new fibres.
The club urges rugby players, club members and the wider Royal Wootton Bassett community to participate in this scheme and contribute to both sustainability and the lifesaving efforts of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
