Minis & Juniors Highlights | 7th January 2024

After a relaxing Christmas break, our Minis & Juniors were eager to get back to it, with a busy weekend across the sections.

 

 

Under 6s | Joseph

Joseph was player of the week. Very determined running throughout especially during bulldog.
 

 

Under 7s | Charlie

Charlie was player of the week for U7s for good concentration and running.
 

 

Under 8s | Oscar

Amazing play today! Great defence and scoring tries! Well done!
  

 

Under 9s | Sid & Oliver

Player of the week goes to Oliver for his brilliant attitude and work rate in attack and defence, the very definition of a team player. Tackler of the week goes Sid who showed great technique and tenacity in his tackling. Well done both.
 

 

Under 10s | Daniel & Archie

Big praise has to go to Daniel as U10s player of the week today - his power, positioning and try scoring was excellent. And Archie was a deserving winner of tackle of the week with the sheer number of big hits that he put in today.
    

 

Under 11s | Finn

Under 11’s player of the week was Finn who showed great hands under the high ball with some great catches and great forward running break the game line on several occasions.

   

 

Under 12s | Jayden

For U12s it was Jayden for two strong games, making good tackles, ripping the ball and hitting ruck after ruck.
   

 

Under 16s | Ollie

Ollie put in an impressive performance this weekend, leading by example throughout the game and even had a cameo at Centre for the last five minutes.
Ollie has been a part of Bassett since u6s and showed his plethora of skills with some important game changing plays.
   

 

Under 12s | Ryleigh

Our Ravens U12s travelled to Hungerford to take on the West Berks Warriors. We enjoyed a joint training session before splitting the age groups for some training games. Our U12 player of the day is Ryleigh who once again for excellent tackles and intelligent play.

 

 

Under 14s | Lei

Our Ravens U14s travelled to Hungerford to take on the West Berks Warriors. We enjoyed a joint training session before splitting the age groups for some training games. Our Ravens U14 player of the day is Lei for some marauding runs and bone shattering tackles.

  

 

Colts | Chris Toon, Reuben Engley, Jackson Allen, Roo Rebello and Sol Hopkins

Although our Colts teams were yet to return from their Christmas break, five of our U18s were selected to play for Dorset & Wilts in a County match against Buckinghamshire under the lights at Hartpury University.

This was the final game of a series of U18s County fixtures this season and these Bassett players have represented their County throughout. All five Bassett lads gave great performances in this final thrilling match with the score ending D&W 35 - 35 Buckinghamshire.
