Sadly, Les passed away over the weekend. Les came to Bassett, after an invitation in 2010 after a significant playing and coaching career at a very high level at a number of clubs in South Wales.
Les was a true gentleman and very quickly gained the respect of the players and the officials at the club. A genuine guy, tough in training and expecting of his players, he was instrumental in helping to move the club forward to where it is today.
Unfortunately due to ill health Les was unable to continue, but he kept in touch and visited the club at various VP lunches and club events where his vibrant humour and knowledge of the game was an inspiration to all.
The VPs, Life Members and all members at RWBRFC recollect Les with fondness and respect. RIP.
