John Downey

Dear Members,  

It is my sad duty to inform you that John Downey has died following a fall at the club whilst watching the RWBRFC vs Windsor match.

John was a guest of Ron Low at the Vice President’s Lunch and was enjoying his first visit to RWBRFC. During the game John fell backwards on the patio, striking his head on the clubhouse window sill.

He was cared for by Jenni and the Windsor RFC physio before being taken by ambulance to GWH. John was subsequently moved to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. Sadly the medical teams were not able to do anything to improve his condition and John passed away earlier today.

I’m sure you will all join with me in passing on our condolences to John’s family at this time.
