Music Industry thrown into shock as Blues Legend Alec Adams announces his retirement!

It was in 2002 that the fledgling Blues Band Built for Comfort cut their first disc in a live gig at Wootton Bassett RFC, Stoneover Lane. From what I can remember of the evening it was a hot and sweaty affair as the low ceilings and confined space echoed to the rhythm of Chicago blues.

17 years on, the band has gone from strength-to-strength playing throughout the West Country and Wales and being a regular booking at the Cheltenham and Marlborough Jazz Festivals.
The band has seen numerous personnel changes during that time but the one constant has been Alec, who has been front man and ‘promoter’ from day one.

However, with the demands of grandparent-hood, family and holidays, Alec has decided the time is right turn down the levels, knock back the faders and hang up his microphone for the very last time.

Farewell Gig

As a parting memento the band have decided to cut one last disc with Alec at the helm.

So mark your diaries for Saturday 21st December for a very special farewell gig at Royal Wootton Bassett RFC. Come and join Alec and Built for Comfort as they celebrate the end of an era. There will be no better way to start off the Christmas festivities.
